My path to becoming a financial advisor is deeply personal and began long before I entered the industry.
I was born in China and abandoned at just eight days old during the one-child policy era, when many baby girls were never given a chance. I was left at a designated finding spot, brought to an orphanage, and adopted at six months old by a single woman from America who flew across the world to bring me home.
When we landed in St. Louis, the people waiting at the airport weren’t just family, they were clients of my grandfather, John H. Darling. Many still remember attending my baby shower and what gifts they brought. From the beginning, I was drawn to my grandpa, and he knew I was meant to continue his legacy.
I grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, watching my grandfather pour his heart into helping others with their finances. His dedication inspired me to follow in his footsteps. I chose to stay close to home and attend Lindenwood University, where I co-founded the school’s first investment club which is still active today.
After earning my Series 7, Series 66, and life/health/accident licenses, I officially stepped in to carry the torch. Since then, I’ve grown the practice with heart and purpose serving people locally and from all parts of the country.
Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of speaking nationwide and contributing to the broader financial industry. I’ve been featured in articles in:
- Forbes
- Investopedia
- Financial Advisor Magazine
- InvestmentNews
- Delta Zeta National Sorority
Notable recognitions include:
- InvestmentNews Best Wealth Managers & Advisors Under 40 (2024)
- SEI Rising Star Advisor of the Year nominee
- Delta Zeta 35 Under 35
- Opening Bell Ceremony at the New York Stock Exchange (2024)
I’m forever grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given—the chance to come to America, earn a scholarship, and work with incredible people. In 2024, I launched the Danielle Darling Annual Scholarship at Lindenwood University to support future leaders in business.
While I love my story, the most meaningful part of this work is learning yours. My goal is to help build wealth in a way that reflects who you are and what you value—through every season of life.
In Loving Memory of John H. Darling
John Darling truly loved this business—not because of the numbers and math, but because of the people. He found joy in helping others through all of life’s chapters. He was my mentor and my inspiration, my biggest supporter, and the reason this firm exists today. It’s been the greatest honor to continue working with the people he cared for and to hear stories that keep his spirit alive. Darling Wealth Management is his legacy, reimagined for a new generation. May he rest in peace.
